Your Jewish or Jewish Interfaith Wedding in Gorgeous Greece

For several years now I have had the opportunity of sharing the joys of Judaism on the Greek island of Rhodes. The oldest synagogue in all of Greece, built in 1577, is located there and the Jewish sites on the island, including a unique Jewish museum are true treasures. Greek island delights feature fabulous panoramas – the “Greek Blue Sea,” the gentle hills and the lush gardens, along with ancient architectural sites — combine to offer lovely venues for your Jewish or Jewish-Interfaith wedding.

Rhodes is one of the most southern of all the Greek islands and boasts a tepid climate year round. In addition Rhodes offers a wide variety of wedding options including hotel and private garden setting and fabulous locations that offer a spectacular view of the sea.

Each year I spend nearly a month serving the Rhodes synagogue as officiant for Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies for our families who travel from the UK, Canada and the United States. We serve Jewish and Jewish interfaith families whose sons and daughters are called to the Torah.

And now we are offering JEWISH and JEWISH INTERFAITH WEDDINGS at beach and garden venues throughout Rhodes where we will create for you and your family the ceremony of a lifetime.

For Jewish and Jewish interfaith couples, including same gender couples, standing together under a chuppah positioned to view the turquoise sea, creates an ambiance never to be forgotten. It has been my joy to offer inclusive wedding ceremonies in Italy where I work with couples to personalize their ceremony and to incorporate specific faith traditions of both families. Now I look forward to offering the same inclusive and welcoming wedding service to couples who marry in Greece.

Your wedding celebration includes a beautifully crafted chuppah, complemented, if you choose, with live musical selections. For your wedding reception couples will find a large selection of traditional Greek tavernas where delicious local delights combine with traditional dancing- both Greek and Jewish – including the Hora, of course! Your reception can be held at the same venue that can include a sumptuous dinner, music and dancing as well.

For example, St. Paul’s Bay, located at the foot of the Acropolis in Lindos is Rhode’s most popular wedding venue while Kallithea Springs offers exquisite architecture wrapped in serenity and tranquility. For panoramic views of the island, consider Filerimos or choose a beach wedding complete with a beautiful chuppah (wedding canopy) anchored in the sand at the water’s edge.
