- Lev Chadash celebrates Sukkot. Parents with their children, members with their
friends from Milan and Torino joined Rabbi Barbara Aiello in Ivrea to construct and
decorate a sukkah, then to gather inside to make the blessings and eat a snack
(pizza, of course!). As a special treat Lev Chadash adults donned costumes of the
"ushpizim," the Biblical guests that Kabbalists say visit the sukkah each year.
"Abraham" and "Sarah" were marvelous. Thanks to Nevatim school director, Eva
Mangialajo, teacher, Francesa Solano and our host, Roberta Anau, proprietor of the
wonderful agritourist villa, "La Miniera," for a delicious pranzo and snack.
Tuesday night, October 25, Lev Chadash celebrated Simchat Torah with a traditional
service that included the Seven Hakafot (processions) with the Torah. The final procession
featured the Torah, carried under the chuppah, as the congregation "married" themselves to
Torah and its principles for the coming year. Chag Sameach!
