The fire in a Delray Beach home Thursday that killed
two adults and a child remains under investigation.
Delray Beach Fire-Rescue Department Division
Chief Russell Accardi said fire crews and officials
from the state fire marshal's office were at the scene
late in the day awaiting the arrival of an
accelerant-sniffing dog from Ocala. Firefighters
responded to a fire call at 1325 SW 21st Way about
9:45 a.m. Thursday. Accardi said heavy smoke was
billowing from the windows, but the fire remained
inside a front bedroom. The two adults were found
dead inside. A child, thought to be about 4, was
found in bed in an adjacent bedroom. Paramedics
brought him out but were unable to revive him.
Accardi said all three victims were seriously burned.
They will be identified after the medical examiner
checks the remains.
