Interfaith Families Are Jewish Treasures
In 2002 I had the honor of officiating
at the interfaith marriage of two
wonderful people, both of whom
enjoy and respect each other's
religious traditions.  Two years later it
was my joy to conduct the naming
ceremony for their beautiful son, as
we welcomed him into the Jewish
"mespucha," the worldwide Jewish
family.  Interfaith families truly are
our Jewish treasures.

When a couple invites God into their
partnership and when we rabbis
bless their union and welcome these
couples into our hearts and into our
communities by making Jewish
tradition accessible and available to
them, we have done God's work.

Interfaith marriages make  "L'dor v'
dor," from generation to generation,
come alive. This precious little boy is
our treasure.
"Happy Chanukah" to every
interfaith family who finds
hope and promise in
shared traditions."
